The NMDDPC is delighted to share the award-winning documentary “Hearts of Glass” with disability advocates and allies across the state of New Mexico. It premiered on PBS stations across the nation last year in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The film is about Vertical Harvest, an ambitious small business in Jackson, Wyoming. It combines high-tech local food production and meaningful inclusive employment for people with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities. The documentary weaves the story of the launch of the business with the personal journeys of employees. Plants and people grow together in this intimate portrait of innovation, inclusion and community
Join us for a lively panel discussion with audience Q&A on March 24 from 3-4 pm. Panelists will include the filmmaker, two employees from Vertical Harvest, and others.
